am i suppossed to use wooden sticks or different type?
and if it is different type then what kind?

I think you're supposed to use hard plastic ones, you should be able to get them at most music stores, try musicians friend

Wood sticks are fine, although you may prefer thinner sticks for feel and speed - heavy sticks wouldn't make a difference in sound.

I use painted or coated wooden sticks

I've had the feeling I was whackin' too hard often enough that I cut my sticks down about three inches.
