I too bought a lot of things that usually is on the back to school list and was told that the classrooms would be stocked by the "donations" students and their parents sent in, but wasn't going to ask in fear that a child could not bring them and be singled out. So I sent the items with my son (he's in Kindergarten) too donate them to the class.
Now it appears your older and you need a list. I fear what's going to happen to you is in the first week of school five to seven different teachers are going to want five or seven different things and that would be my thoughts on why they didn't make a general list. And yeah that you'd p*ss me off too.

I'm assuming that if you have homeroom that you're in high school, so no, it doesn't surprise me that they wouldn't send out a list. By now you should know what you're going to need. And most likely you already have stuff from the past years in school. I think the last time I got a list was in 7th grade and that was for a science class where I needed specific stuff.

You usually do, but I don't go to a big school because there is one class per grade so I already no who my homeroom teacher is going to be. But first I think you should take it into your own hands and buy whatever supplies you think you need and when you go back to school you will know who your homeroom teacher will be it will be like a surprise. And what they did I think was stupid! Have a fun year in school!

Around here, all of the stores selling school supplies (Wal-Mart, K-Mart, Office Max, etc.) get lists from all the schools that are posted in the stores for students to pick up and buy in advance. Did you school possibly go to a system like that this year?

Yeah, I actually used to like when they did that so I could go shopping and everything but now you gotta wait till the first day of school find out all of this info and w/e. But I kind of have and idea of what they want so it doesn't really matter but good luck getting unpissed off....

They will probably send you a card telling you where your homeroom is. And about the supplies, it depends. Maybe they will give you lists once schools begins. However, do bring paper, a notebook, a binder, and pencil to be prepared.

I think by now you would know generally what you need... in high school each teacher has a differnt system of organization of how they want their kids to keep stuff. buy general stuff... and then later go and get the specifics that your teachers want.

Not if you're going into highschool.
You find out your rooms and teachers when you get your schedule. And you don't know what supplies you need until you get your syllabus for each class.
If you're going into post secondary...you're on your own sister. They will not hold your hand...
