Long ago, it fell victim to a volcano's eruptions which covered the town very quickly. That's all I know. The lava froze people in place and preserved many bodies and artifacts for the anthropologists to study.

it erupted and killed alot of greeks, and this guy saw it and wrote about the catastraph, i forgot alot about it, but that is a quick summary of it, oh yeah it is a volcano and it was next to a medium size town and had nice things and by the time they knew it was gonna erupt the ashes killed them or made them slow because it was tall and they couldn't breathe right, but some escaped to the next island, and that is where the guy wrote about it
