In the morning, it takes me about 45 mins. straight from Mandalay Bay to Stratosphere. In the afternoon to early evening, it takes about one hour and at night, about 1 1/2 hours because of the crowds lining the streets.

If you are talking MGM to the Stratosphere...one heck of a long time. If you factor in the crowds, street crossings, and such, I would guess at least 1.5 hours (without stoppong and looking much). I think the distance from one end to the other is roughly 3.5 miles.

The funny thing about Vegas is that everything looks close, but it really is a long way away. You get off at the airport and see the Strip and think it'll just be a few minutes to get there. You jump on the taxi/bus service and 30+ minutes later, you are just hitting the Strip at North end.

It depends, if you just walk the strip itself, I think the estimates here sound about right. But one of the things that surprised me about the Vegas strip was how far the casinos are back from the strip when walking. Which makes sense because of how big they all are. Some of them have moving sidewalks though to help get you from the strip/street into the casino, but if you plan to hit each one on your walk it could be an all day event. I walked from MGM Grand to the Las Vegas Hilton, stopping in at several casinos along the way, and it took a good part of a day (stopping for lunch too). It was too hot and I was too tired to walk back, but it was pretty easy to get a cab at the Hilton to head back to my hotel. Which would be true of any place you walked to, so you might want to walk as far as you can and cab it back.

Too far. Especially in that heat. My guess would be about 2 hours or so. Maybe more. It is several miles from north to south strip. Not sure why anyone would walk the entire thing. You should walk the south strip, that takes about 45 min and has alot going on. But if you want to see the entire thing, drive it or take a taxi.

The biggest factor will be the size of the crowds on the street. In the early mornings, you would be able to do it in about an hour. While the streets are busy, you may count on a couple of hours one way.

The first time we went to Vegas, we did just that, but we stopped in nearly all of the casinos just to see what they looked like. With all of the stops we made, we took about eight hours to do the entire thing. But, it was worth it because now we have a good idea of the location of everything when the topic comes up.

It's not so bad!! I would have to say 45 min also. There so much to see- just people watching passes the time. If you are thinking of walking it to do the sightseeing thing, definitely. Then you get to stop in & check out other casinos. But it doesn't take a long time if you are enjoying yourself.............that is the key. I walked it every day a couple times on my vacations cuz I would stay at one end or the other. It's an adventure!

have done it. takes close to a hr due to crowds. 4 miles. Stratosphere is not on strip (same road but Strat is in Las vegas & Strip is not). Sahara to Mandalay Bay. No where near as grueling even in 100 degree temps a s portrayed here.

Depends on how fast you walk, any stops you might make, your definition of "the strip". The strip is very long..miles and miles and miles. The part with all the hotels and casinos is about 5 miles. North of the stratosphere it starts to get spooky.

Forever. Espically during the hot summer days. You will have to stop into casinos to cool off. It will proabably take at least 45 minutes to get from one end to the other and this is just no-stop walking, which is hard with the crowds.

It won't take that long if you don't stop and look at every casino. I'd say 20 minutes. It gets hot in the summer time and you will want to take some cold water with you on your walk.
