whalers have foam that tends to get waterlogged and adds weight to the vessel,wet or dry,other than that they have good resale,The Contender is a really nice offshore fishing vessel ,well planned and well laid out,..........I say ....... Contender

I'd go for the boston whaler mainly because of name recognition and overall quality of the product. I myself have a 32 proline which I use out in the Gulf of Mexico.
