yes you can still recover the data on it , all formatting does is to tell the disk it is OK to write on the disk it DOES NOT erase anything , if you need something to erase all the data on it you should use something like killdisk available free from http://www.download.com or http://www.softpedia.com
additional: killdisk also do a data recovery tool but I ain't sure if that's free like killdisk is.

depends on how much you want to spend to get it back :) there are companies that will take your hard drive and try and recover as much as possible back to a new one. as long as you didn't do a "low level" format which can't be done in windows itself, you should be able to recover some of it.
there are also software that can help out as well.

If your hard drive is not formatted completely then try this-Use you hard disc in another computer as a parallel hard disc and try to access data it can work.

I'm terribly sorry for your loss. Kill your sisters friend. How did she accidentely format your hard drive? I sure hope she is sexy and old enough to work off what she did to you that cannot be undone.
