This is the same game that Hussein played in Iraq. The UN will continue to make a stream of toothless resolutions (due to procedural road blocks set up by those that do not have western interests at heart) and Iran will continue to ignore them and make weapons grade material while at the same time playing on public opinion by saying that it is their "right" and vilifying anyone who says otherwise.

Further, should anyone (like Israel) grow tired of waiting for the UN do actually do something (which will never happen) and effect a pre-emptive strike to prevent their enemies from actually producing a nuke they will be publicly vilified for not going through the UN.

Keep in mind that Iran has publicly stated multiple times that their goal is to see Israel wiped from the face of the earth. It's kind of like a school yard bully saying that he is going to "pound your head", looking menacingly at you when he picks up a baseball bat, and then crying to the teacher that it is his right to play baseball after you report him for threatening you.
