DA Lacy thinks its funny.
She said in a press conference that she was out of her mind to arrest Karr. And then told reporters that she just wanted to get on with her life as she just got an offer to buy the Brooklyn Bridge and she'd like to pursue it.....
Uh....not funny. The whole situation was not funny. You don't laugh it off or make a joke about a child's murder. Had she said they had to explore every lead and take his confession seriously and in order to get conclusive DNA they needed him in custody - OK. But she laughed it off. I can't even think of words to describe how inappropriate and disrespectful her comments were.
This whole case is just bizarre but the real crime in Karr's arrest was Lacy's flighty comments about her mistake.

Well...I mean it is sad that the family went through this. But how were the police supposed to know the guy was just crazy and not the real killer? It is a detectives job to take all tips seriously no matter how insane.

we all knew the guy was a creep but, not the killer.it is sad even after all these years the case is not solved once and for all.the reason they made such a big deal out of this case was just to get a DNA sample that didn't even match.they arrest the guy without any concrete evidence and didn't even apologized for their actions.it is playing out like a joke and i hope for the family's sake they find who ever killed the girl so she can rest in peace.

Jon Karr is by no means an innocent man when it comes to having child porn and probably being a child molester. but I thought something was fishy when he "confessed." he claims he was with her and her death was an "accident." how do you "accidentally" strangle someone and fracture their skull? my coworkers and I have talked about this. we have the feeling that he knew if he stayed in Thailand, he would more than likely be executed. he confessed so he'd be extradited to the US where he more than likely will only go to prison. he was trying to save his own butt.

From the minute it was mention I knew that dude was not involved. I still think it was an inside job. But, we'll probably never know. I hope never to see any of it on the airwaves again. Talk about sensationalism.

I still think he was involved. The SBTC signature was used by him before JonBenet's death. Still something fishy about this.

It got him out of Thailand!
Whilst there is no link with the DNA evidence there is still the Initials found that correspond to his school yearbook. So whilst it looks like he may not be the murderer there may be links between them

The whole thing. from the begining when the news told of that poor little girls death, the details of it, all the news frenzy stories and acusations that came out. and the recent goings on, just plain sickening. a senseless crime of another one of our young people. sickening!

I felt embarrassed for everyone involved. They desperately wanted closure and it was done the wrong way...i look at it this way..this guy was a predator and it's good that he's off the streets
