I will be going to Vietrnam starting the middle of October, and staying till the middle of December. While there, I will be getting married in Ha Noi, honeymooning in Hoi An, visiting Da Nang, Nha Trang, Da Lat and Saigon.

I am wondering when Ong Jon will be visitng Vietnam next, and where might my fiancee' and I could cross his path.

(Easy 10 points for Ong Jon...)

Novice: Thanks for the input. We picked Hoi An over Da Nang or Nha Trang because we like to site see historical places over sitting on the beach. As for the heat... I live in the Mojave Desert, so heat is nothing to me.

I'm not Ong Jon; however, I was basically on the same path you would take though in different order: Saigon, Da Lat, Nha Trang, Ha Noi, Ha Long Bay, Ha Noi, Da Nang, Saigon. And I actually recommend you do your honeymoon in Nha Trang at this resort called Vin Pearl. Hoi An is too hot :-).

If you like historical places, I recommend Hanoi over HoiAn. Many events in Vietnam's long history happened in the North and not in the middle part of the country. Hanoi also has more places to see, though Hoian's Pho Co (Old Town) is also very nice to tour. Touring the whole HoiAn would take just about 2 days though.

If you don't limit your trip to just Vietnam, you might want to fly to SiemRap in Cambodia. They have beautiful ruins/temples there.

Congratulations and have a good trip!

Dude,
Seriously, Don't go to VinPearl if you like steseeing and bored with beaches. What VinPearl in Nhatrang does what you is to rip you off, give you no freedom while you can found humanity and friendship (also some cheeps drinks) along Nha Trang coast.
