Take the MRT (Mass Rapid Transit) trains around Singapore. Feel free to drop what ever station you like, explore the vacinity and neighbourhood, be it City Hall or Toa Payoh (suburbs) and then hop back onto the train again. There are some great bargains shopping in Toa Payoh.
Botanical Gardens - many species of tropical plants and trees; most famous of all is Singapore's National Flower called Orchid. It is called Vanda Miss Joachim. It also has a large pond with swans swimming around.
Try the East Coast park where you can go cycling, roller blading, jogging/running, or brisk walking, swimming or sun tanning. The recently revamped East Coast Hawker Centre provides good food value for money. If you want sometime more exotic, you can head over to the East Coast Seafood Centre where it is hightly recommended to try the "No Sign Board" seafood restaurant, famed for their white pepper crabs.
Pulau Ubin or Ubin island (Pulau is the Malay word for Island, as Malay is the national language whilst English is the official language), is known for its rustic and resembles most of old time Singapore. Take a ferry at Changi Point jetty and the journey cost less than S$5 one way. Exciting seafood and tropical fruits such as Durians await you. You can either walk or rent a bicycle to explore the island. However, be warned that the terrain in Pulau Ubin is not kind to cyclists and many have been known to suffer injuries whilst cycling there. The latest was a Malay girl who fell into a coma after a bicycle accident there. On the bright side, Chek Java is a nature reserve protected by the Government and sponsored by HSBC for its unique tropical wildlife within the mangrove swamps.

Hi, nice to know you are coming over for a visit. When will you be coming over? This is because at different festive time of the year, there will be different highlights in the city. For example if you are coming in October/Nov, there is the Geylang light-up where the street is decorated and lit up in preparation for the Muslim New Year.
Also in Oct, there is a light up in Little India for the Indian Festival of Lights.
If you are coming in December, there will be a massive light up and sales at the main shopping area in Orchard Road and the city! The holiday mood setting will surely get to you.
Places to see when you are here are:
Singapore Zoo *** Night Safari, 2 sites in the same area, one is the day zoo and the other is the night zoo. The day zoo had set the standard as being among the first in the world to be designed as an open zoo back in the 70s. Currently, it has among the widest range of animals in the region. This also showcase animals show to entertain the visitors. Different animals at different timings, so you need to be early to see what is on.
The Night Safari was a 90s effort to showcase the habitat of the night creatures, that you do not see in the day. First of its kind in the world then, it is still a world-class exhibition.
The Jurong Bird Park is another good place to head to. I loved the Birds of Paradise enclosure, where birds that were so seldom sighted are flying around in the enclosure. And they are so much at home, you can even view their fatastic courtship ritual, like on Dscovery or NGC!
There had been much done to this place, with a couple of walk-through avaiaries showcasing different types of habitats. You get the birds flying around you.
I will recommend going early as there are some spectacular bird shows at different showing times.
In the Nature Reserve, there is a tree-top bridge, spanning a few kilometers. This is for observing the reserve inhabitants at canopy level. Worth visiting. Recommend morning or evening due to the exposed bridge and hot sun combination.
Sentosa has some nice sites to visit. Notably the Surrender Chamber, Butterfly and Insects Garden, Dancing Water Fountain (evening onward) and the cable car ride for the island viewing both Sentosa and Singapore.
Eat while you are here. The seafood is nice, especially with the local passion to eat. You can find many eating place everywhere. So eat like the locals.
Night scene are the pubs along Mohammad Sultan road, Boat Quay, Clark Quay. Plenty to keep you company till late.
Visit Chinatown for a taste too. Shopping and eating. What more.

You can visit lots of great places in Singapore. In CBD areas lots of places for you to discover. Depending on where you stay in Singapore. Take the MRT to Chinatown on North-east line and discover the Chinese heritage that survive in Singapore. You can tour around the Chinatown Complex and the surrounding places. There is a Chinese Heritage Centre nearby which you can understand more about the Chinese culture for only S$8 (US$5).
From there you can take the northeast line towards Punggol direction, to visit Little India, where all the Indian from any part of the world, meets together.
For Malay culture, go to Malay Village at Geylang Serai. Take the MRT to Paya Lebar or Eunos Station to reach there.

Just got back from a trip to Singapore, Sentosa is really nice, don't forget to check out the Singapore Night Safari zoo (the only one in the world which inspired the book Life of Pi), shopping on Orchard road (mostly brand names), Little India and Chinatown...and a trip to the Asian Civilisations Museum to understand the history and culture of singapore.

The only part of Singapore I liked was Sentosa Island. It is great. The rest of Singapore was very regimented and the shopping was lousy. I will never go back there again. Thailand is sooo much better.

East Coast beach is a good place to relax and Seafood centre is near enough for great food
Take the MRT to Ang Mo Kio just to experience typical neighbourhood living. The majority of Singaporeans live in HDB (Housing Development Board) flats and Ang Mo Kio is one of the pioneering towns. There are many hawker centres around for local food sampling
Drop by Wild Wild Wet at Downtown East (Pasir Ris) if you want to cool off at a water theme park.
Actually it would depend on what you would like to see. Clubbing, shopping?

Nothing. this island is very boring.
Wait, u may be interested in brothels in Singapore. But those in Batam, Indonesia (30 min from Singapore by sea) are more satisfying and much cheaper and safer from police
