if its new it should still be under warranty so have it looked at by a BMW dealership.

In this case you may want to have it looked at by a professional. BMW has a dealership locator on there website.
If you do want to take it into you own hands I would start by buying a wire feed welder, 20 feet of 2x2 tube steel, six rolls of duct tape, and a roll of ten gauge wire.
