For the people that stereotype tattoos and their wearers...?

Seriously, you say tattoos and those that wear them are dumb, stupid. what ever. Do you know people with tats, or are you just hearing and believing the stereotype?

I'm not saying that I believe the stereotype, just wondering why others believe it.

I have 9 tats and even now in this day and age some things still make people squirm. Like piercings on the face. I also have a labret. I was watching this show called taboo about tattoos and they said the uneasiness stems from waaaaaaaaaaaaaay back in the day when people went to prison they would put a small tattoo on their forehead to ostracize them from society and let others know that hey this guy is bad. Most people from that time are gone now but if you grew up with your parents displaying an uneasinesss around those tatted some may just go with that feeling into adulthood. And I hate when people say you are defacing, destroying, mutilating, graffiti whatever your body. It's perception. I paint, sculpt everything I love art and to me my body is a blank canvas that needs decorating.

I have tattoos and I will get more tattoos,the sad thing about the human race is that we judge people before we know the people..I work with the public and I can honestly tell you that if alot of my clients knew I had tattoos they would not come back.I keep all my tats covered while at work.

properly, i will placed it this way. no longer all tattooed each and every physique is criminals, yet various criminals have tattoos. Gang individuals, too. I easily have 3 myself and could finally end up with extra, yet i'm comfortable to particular varieties of tattoos. i think a long time ago there were very little people that had tat?!? be now days a lot more people have them i like them i think some are weird and wonder why someone would want that on there body?... but its there body not mine i no people with tats!!! my dad has a tattoo of my name and as long as it means something to that person no one else should care!!!! (that's just what i think though)

I haven't ever heard anyone refer to people that have tattoos in this way. I think tattoos are cool and reflect the person's personality. Some tattoos are absolutely beautiful and are true works of art.

emmm, I've never heard people stereotyping about tattoos... at least, I, my friends and family don't :-)
