Looking through the Science and Maths section is like looking through an exercise book. Though, on second thoughts, maybe these guys are the businessman of the future - outsourcing their problems to another country.

They won't even be going to exams, they are too stupid to think of themselves, hence they go online and ask for help, the most annoying thing is that their questions are too easy, most of the easy questions are from the kids in school.

I don't think it's a problem posting homework questions here.

I mean it is a lot of work to post every single homework question in here and sift through the answers to sort the good info from the bad. Takes some time for the answers to show up too. Clearly more work than just doing the problem yourself.

And a lot of the time people give explanations with the answers that might help the asker understand the subject better.

And for questions that are more complex (like Physics and math word problems), they are sure to get several people who give them answers that are at least partially wrong (if not completely out to lunch). The asker has to know enough to tell the difference.

I think Yahoo Answers is a good resource for kids who need a little homework help.

When I was in school, I would just blow off my homework. At least the kids who post here care about getting it done.

This is how i think of the music section. Lots and lots of people asking for song titles, and there are even quiz questions like "name 3 songs by _____"

But I think differently about the math section because some of the people who posted these questions may be just kids. Those who are older and lazy to think of their own know who they are, but lazy students must realize that they may ruin their chances in the future where they don't have a laptop in front of them at a job interview.

Sorry Jess, but have you seen how, and what, questions are posted? That's a nice thought, but wishful thinking. Some of the questions are plain theory; there's no working out to do.

That depends on if they just copy what they get from these postings or do they actually read and try to understand the answers they get.

To be honest, I'm more disturbed by the lack of proficiency in spelling and grammar.

Be a little more optimistic - maybe the kids that post homework questions need to see the answer to one of their questions so that they can use it as a model to find the solutions ON THEIR OWN for the rest of their homework/assignment questions.

=)

I just don't answer any questions from that category. Let them do the work. Especially since they have the internet, how hard could it be. When I was in school, before fire was invented, there was no internet or cell phones.

LMAO!!!! You're right. I have noticed many questions that could be answered by re-reading one's notes or actually opening the textbook.

These poor saps don't have a prayer at test-time. Get ready to support them with your tax dollars to welfare!!

hahaha thats funny. Yeah well i always double check the answers, its better to get a problem right and know why then to do it wrong and be horribly confused. Hope that helps!

I don't know, but don't tell them to do their own homework! I did (the nerve of me) and got turned in and the Answer Team removed my Answer and deducted points from me! The reason? "Do your own homework." was 'Not a question or Answer.' Nice.
