You really don't have to wear the check, you know, if you don't want to be mistaken for a Chav.
I think it has more of a problem in England than it does in the US.
Other than that, they have plenty of pieces that are classy and elegant all thanks to Christopher Bailey, the current creative director. I mean, seriously, Burberry used to have this really stodgy image but HIGH FASHION Burberry now is brilliant, brilliant, brilliant.
Think of a way to "rewear" it, make it all your own, and good luck!

Sorry but what are chavs? Excuse my ignorance.
Anyway Burberry is always acceptable it show class, especailly if it is worn with style and grace.
Edit
Now I know Thanks to STARFLOWER what Chav means I best tell the other half not to wear his burberry shower proof jacket with Burberry emblazoned on the back. He might get barred from his local.
Come to think about it, wearing Burberry is a bit like the Teddy Boy Suits worn in the late fifties and early sixties. If a lad wore a Teddy Boy suit he was consider to be a thug full stop, despite the lads paying hundreds of pounds for their beautifully made suits.
So nothings changed there then?

No. It's far too stereotypical of a chav. It wouldn't matter if you were wearing genuine Burberry stuff either, it's only associated with them now and will always look cheap. Even Matt Lucas wears a Burberry cap in Little Britain when he's playing the mate of the David Walliams character who fancies his gran and they live in that council tower block. Don't do it!

Don't wear any Burberry with the famous pattern.
Anything that's non descript go for it. I have two Burberry coats but you'd never know they were burberry unless you saw the lable inside. They make lovely clothes but unfortunately it's going through the stage that Ralph Lauren Polo went through a few years ago.
Stick to the classic and not the standard pattern.

Well,if you go around wearing Burberry caps at ninety degrees with skate shoes and tracksuits OR Burberry Headbands to go with greasy hair and otherwise dressed like a I-don't-even-have-money-to-buy-proper-shoes, then u will look like a chav!!It's the combination you make and the whole style!!

Try to avoid things that are covered in the pattern and go for things that just have a bit of detail....As long as it looks stylish and not like you have been painted Burberry then i dont think it would look Chav like...

It's more commonly associated with English Chavs.
Chavs are notorious for being criminally-minded and wearing alot of gold (especially sovereigns).
Some nightclubs ban people wearing Burberry, so be warned.
At the end of the day.........do you like it?
If so then go for it.

There are so many cheap replicas about today. When I see people wearing a Burberry cap, carrying a Louis Vuitton monogram bag, or wearing a DIESEL logo t-shirt- I automatically assume they are fake. So many people wear the copies, it's hard to tell which is real from a distance.

I think that if you love Burberry then you should wear it no matter what other people say about it. It doesn't exclusively say that Chavs only can wear it so if you want to wear it, wear it with pride!!!
