First let me say you can have all the cats in the world and still have snakes, I know believe me
We had thirty cats at one time and we still had snakes.
There is a product on the market these days called Snake Away, I'm not sure just what's in it but it works. We put it around our foundation of our house in the spring and have not seen one snake in the basement all summer. Thank goodness.
You can get "Snake Away" at Lowe's and Home Depot and Walmart.

At Lowes they sell a product called, "Snake Away". You can also buy a bag of Sulfur in a granular form that can be used in the same way. Next year, destroy the bird's nest as soon as you notice the birds have started to build it. The birds may take a while to become discouraged, but they will eventually get the hint and just build it somewhere else.

Put a rope around your yard, snakes cannot go over ropes or just get a couple cats from the humane society.

moth balls work rather well. don't know how big your yard is but if you just want them out of flower bed or something it will work great.. or around doors to keep them out of your house.. most snakes in the yard are good for keeping the bug and critter problems at bay. try to work around them..
but try the moth balls in small areas where you want to be working.

Lotsa cats help, but is it woth it. Snakes while scary get rid of some truly harmful pests. I heard there was a guy who knew a tune he played to lead them away. There might be a draw back if you do not pay him beware.

Snakes for the most part are a transient pest. coming and going, nesting to bread. They actually help in keeping the rodent and bug population in check. I don't know of any pest control for them but check with a local exterminator for ideas or traps. You could buy a Mongoose.

I used to have many snakes. I used a concrete cinder block. Simply run up to the snake and toss the block on it. That will take care of your problem, it worked great for me

Usually you have snakes if you have rodents. Buy a cat.
