Great Federation for mutual economic advantage and protection. We would pull out of the UN and tell the rest of the world to buzz off. What do you think? What other counties would you add and why?

I include Poland because they are becoming a powerblock in Europe. Hard working peace-loving and willing to fight to the last man for freedom. Situated between Germany and Russia.

cayoteee: The UN is corrupt beyond repair. If the US and UK pulled out, it would fall apart. Stop hating the US, it's the best friend the world has.

Mary Ann: please call on us when you need protection from Iran's or N Korea's nukes, okay? Oh, and if you need a heart operation asap, please feel free to drive over to Michigan rather than wait 3 years under your wonderful free medical system.

Good idea, but....
- If you pull US and UK out of UN then you have still Japan, Germany and France which provide quite a piece of the financial contributions to the UN (Japan 19% vs US 22%).
- You would be surprised about Poland! Polish people work really hard in the US but (again!) they are one of the most complaining and cursing the US people!
- The UN is actually as good or bad as the countries forming it! US has got the record of most vetoed Security Council decisions. Yes, it pays big money and supports many programmes but it does not give it the right for having the only truth!

Well I think the US, UK, Canada, Australia and you forgot our buddies New Zealand (although they're not on the war bandwagon this time, they usually are) already have a pretty strong mateship. And from experience, nothing ruins a good friendship more than living together. I think if we merged, our political differences would tear us apart. But as things stand, we are free to do as we choose in our own countries, but some combination of us will always stand together. What could be better than that?

Thanks but no thanks :)

As a Canadian, I enjoy the right to be in favour of socialised medicine and the right to visit Cuba. I've watched too many businesses shut down because of the existing free trade pact and I'm happy to be in a country that chose not to invade Iraq just because the U.S. president had a hard on for revenge.

As a British born immigrant, I also appreciate my roots and as a frequent traveller to the U.S., I love the people who live there. I have no problem supporting our friends when the cause is right but I also believe that we have a responsibility to not "tell the rest of the world to buzz off". Recent world events have shown what happens when the largest power in the world decides to opt out of the detente business and into the war business.

I'd like the countries of the world begin to understand that those borders shown on the map are nothing but fictional little lines and in reality, what every country chooses to do effects the rest of us. The UN is needed more than ever but there needs to be a complete revamp to remove the corruption and turn it into what it's supposed to be...

WiseVibes: While you're correct that elective operations can be arranged quicker at times by travelling to the U.S., necessary ops are arranged easily and on a priority basis. I've lost two parents to cancer, my niece battled (successfully) leukemia, my nephew was 2 lbs when he was born and my son was in critical care with sepsis (both are in perfect health now). All received incredible medical service with no waiting. My parents were given a chance to live their last days at home with family because of the free hospice care available.

- we've long tried to resolve political strife with words and would love to see the U.S. move back to using the powers of detente they've normally been so good at using. In the recent Israel/Hezbulla conflict, the U.S. pre-bush would have been first on the scene trying to broker peace, this time, they stood behind Israel shaking pompoms like a sleazy cheerleader girlfriend. It's sad to see a country I love and respect like the U.S. waste it's well earned respect around the world because of one poor leader. I hope that in the next election, change of substance takes place.

I like pulling out on the UN part. Without US and UK, perhaps UN would be able to function for the nations of the World, instead of being manipulated by the two to advance their agenda.

I'm British and would strongly object to being grouped with the USA. The others, possibly yes but definitely not the States.

I'm in Canada and I'd like to keep us together. I don't want to join with the US 'cause of Bush. He'd have us all killed in a matter of days. No thank you! I have enough issues with my own government up here. The rest of the list? I'm not sure but no thanks america. I like you better alone and as my nieghbour not my roomie.
