also what kind should i buy to burn files and movies

actually u can burn pictures on any kind of cd, cdr or cd-rw or even dvd-r and dvd-rw. just depends how much ur willing to spend. cd-r and dvd-r just means a regular burning cd or dvd. but with cd-rw and dvd-rw means that u can erase whats on the disc and put somethin' new in it. obviously u have to check first f ur computer accepts dvd-r's or dvd-rw's and cd-r's or cd-rw's. but of pictures and music I suggest just plain ol' regular cd-r

terri, check your burner's manual or paperwork, it will list the type of cd's to use and burn with, this way you save money and headaches trying and buying. Good Luck

Stay away from 'memorex' I have 175 that I can't use. So check out the cd's very carefully before you buy.
