Yes...it can work. BUT...the below requirements must be met:

* Both partners need to have boundaries...what is acceptable to them? What is each person in the marriage comfortable with? Discuss possible scenarios...discuss feelings. KNOW WHY there is a desire to have an open marriage.

* Make sure both partners have the same idea of OPEN. I've seen plenty of couples who weren't on the same page....in order for it to work, you MUST be on the same page.

* There needs to be OPEN COMMUNICATION. Just because in the beginning it works...doesn't mean its always going to work. An open marriage takes work, and in my opinion needs to be a stronger marriage than most.

relationships are between the people in the relationship. therefore, if all of the people agree, it is between them (meaning the people that are being seen "outside" of the relationship understand the relationship structure, and are OK with it). society has a weird way of convoluting the issue -- but frankly, what happens in your life, should be your business and no one else's. Go to amazon and look up Open Marriage for some books on the subject.

That would be so great if it isn't wrong. But i am sure both partners are not agreeing on this and if they are someone is lying (more than likely it is the woman) we do just about anything to make our spouse happy.

this is not incorrect in case you both favor to do it and also you've stated all the documents thoroughly. you want to set all the obstacles from the start. in case you at the on the spot are not both pleased with it, no. the actual undeniable truth that they requested means they probably already have someone in ideas, and when you're saying no they'd purely cheat on you. obviously you could continuously purely have a threesome each so frequently.

yes it is morally wrong. I think you know this and that is why you are 2nd guessing your decision. There is no commitment or loyalty in this type of relationship. Why no just be friends with benefits than. Not that that is right either but at least you won't be fooling yourself into comtemplating forever with this person. Be careful of diseases, is this worth dying over

The problem is... that there is always one part that subconsciously disagrees... or starts to fall in love. That's why an open relationship is usually wrong or usually ends badly.

I think it's ridiculous, personally. What's the whole point of a "relationship" if both parties are free to screw whomever they wish. It's bucketheaded.

If someone doesn't want to commit to just one person, then they need to remove themselves from the "relationship" and be single.

If the partners are married, yes. If they entered into a marriage, their vows forbid it, something they should have taken into account in the beginning. If they're simply living together, they can do any thing they damn please. It does then become a mystery why they don't just date, but that's their decision.
