it depends...
if a woman comes up to me and tells me that she likes the way i am dressed, i would accept the complement and thank her.
if a man yells out a car window, "Damn, you fine!" or whistles at me while i'm walking down the street, i'd give him the middle finger while simultaneously memorizing his license plate. then, later that evening, i'll go egg his home for treating me like a piece of meat...
