Yeah yeah, go easy on me, I've just never been completely clear on this one. When talking about the weather, if the humidity is HIGH, that amplifies how hot it feels? Is that right?

Can someone give me the 411 of how humidity affects how it feels outside? Thanks.

Well being from Houston
I can say humidity Sucks
And as an A\C tech. I can tell you all about humidity.
to remove humidity from air you must get the temp below 55°. The dew point is the temp. condensation will from.
I can make a person hot in a 72° room if the humidity is too high65% or higher. or freezing cold in a 75 degree room with 20% humidity. Humidity prevents sweat from evaporating in to the air and raises the body temp.

Our bodies cool themselves by pumping perspiration out pores in the skin. When the air is reasonable dry the perspiration evaporates taking heat away from the body by doing so, and we are more comfortable. When its very humid the perspiration can't evaporate and we do not get cooled. And we are dripping with sweat. Moving air from a breeze, fan, or by being in a moving vehicle, enhances evaporation of our perspiration at a given humidity, and we are more comfortable.

The air is heavier and you get sweaty. It usually doesn't refer to how hot it is.
