No sweetie.....it isn't a waste of time. Just because you hear all those songs.....doesn't mean the artist singing it..wrote it. There are very few good songwriter/singers left out there. The music
industry depends heavily on those people that write the songs.....for without them .....there would be no songs for many to sing. There are a lot of people that can sing......but they can't write the songs....there are many that can write and not sing.
The world need inspiring new songwriters......so if you want to write....do it...get that pen and paper out...and who
knows.....one day you might be singing your own litle tune...
Reach for those stars.....and I wish you the best of luck

of course not! Even you can't sing you should still write songs. I think writing a poem or a song is a wonderful talent. I wish I could.
That could even be a career, writing songs and then having a singer sing them.
Plus also you say you dont know if you can sing, so maybe join a choir and see if you can sing.
I hope this helped and made sense
:]

No, its not a waste of time. You dont have to know how to sing to write songs. Someone else can sing them, you can still have a band. Know what I mean? Just keep writing and being creative. Good luck ;)

of course not!! i play drums too, and i write songs even though i can't sing for ****. i can't play for **** either, but oh well. and if you find out you can sing, that's awesome too. there are bands where the lead singer is the drummer. i say if you want to play and still write and maybe even sing, more power to you!

I don't think it's a waste of time. You could always find someone to sing for you or take singing lessons.

Not all all.
You never know - maybe you'll be able to sing someday. Or find somebody that can.
Also, there's a very fine line between song lyrics and poetry. Poetry doesn't need music to be beautiful.

No. Many lyricists don't sing at all. Their songs are played & sung by others. Don't give up on a possibly rewarding career.
