Well good for you if this thing is still on your conscience. Personally I think that the statute of limitations would forgive you by now. So if I were you - I would forget about it.

Though its not a minor traffic violation (some people will get fired for getting one), I dont think 16 years after the fact will really affect you getting that job. Is Aid II a driving job? Im not familar with the school systems coding.
As far as volunteering the information. Would you rather they find out themselves after a background investigation, or would you rather them find out from your mouth first. I personally would pick the second. But again, its been 16 years and may not matter too much.
Hope that helps.

You might as well mention it, if it is on record still. When you apply for a job at a school, they investigate you anyway. They always do a background check, specially when it concerns working around kids. Good luck!

A single DUI is a traffic conviction, I believe (depends on the state); multiple DUIs become criminal.

Unless it specifically asks to reveal a DUI conviction I would not voluntarily offer the info.

I would list it, I know several people who have been fired from jobs for not disclosing it when they applied for their jobs.

Only if they ask. And I don't think they will unless you will be driving students around.
