Because it isn't needed in New Orleans. That place should be bulldozed.
If you're stupid enough to live below sea level you have no business whining when floods happen or expecting handouts.

And do you think the $20 million to be spent on Public Relations to promote more positive coverage of news from Iraq is any better a use of taxpayers money?
Washington politicians are out of touch with reality and the only way we can change things is to vote out ALL of those up for reelection in November. MAYBE that will get the message across that the public is fed up!!!

So now what we freeze all the other projects for War and New Orleans ?
I mean come on, I do believe they have dropped the ball on assistance and response time on New Orleans, but you can't expect to put everything on hold for it.

If those statistics shock you, try this one out:
178 BILLION dollars last year in the USA was spent on health care administration. Not the medical care itself, the people sitting behind the desk finding ways of denying/delaying payment.
Makes me nauseous to think about the sheer waste out there.

They are seceretly taking the land and putting it in their ownership, and then saying it's for "all of us" then charging you to visit "your land"
just like public utilitities, if it's for the public, shouldn't it then in turn be free?
Water and electric companies are extortionists.
