Before working out. This way you'll burn the most of what you eat. You have to have energy to be able to work out anyway.

After the workout try drinking lots of water rather than go and stuff yourself with a juicy sandwich.. ;) I'm sure you know that right after the workout everybody feel very hungry and it is in this moment that you have to avoid the fridge..

Otherwise what's the point of working out?? You'll get even more fat.

Not immediately before. You remember the old saying about not eating before you go swimming.

It applies here, too. You run the risk of getting a painful cramp if you don't let the food digest a bit. Of course, you won't drown, unless you do your work out at the deep end of the pool, but you don't want to be squirming around the gym floor, crying like a baby!

What you DO want to do before a workout is to drink water. Don't wait untill you work up a sweat to start rehydrating. Drink a glass, (small bottle) of water before you begin and you will find that you don't fatigue as fast.

I may not seem to know alot in this world ...never claimed to but as a person who has lost several pounds in several years i was 409lbs. and i now weigh in at 148 lbs. at the age of 40.... working out and eating before hand is a good idea perhaps fruit with a twist .. you usually want to have 2 and 2 before going out or going to the store and with the holidays coming up i would like to suggest this to EVERYONE 2 glasses of water with 2 pieces of fruit before going to holiday parties will help you stay away from the perseveres and concentrate on the main meals when the scale stopped go to the tape measure its now moving and when the tape stopped go back to the scale its now moving again!!! good luck to ya!!!

It all depends on if you are trying to lose weight or gain weight (bulk up).

If you're trying to lose weight, eat as normal, your body starting burning fat soon as you start excercising.

If you're trying to gain weight ou must ensure you have enough energy and carbs before exercising.

i'd guess that you should eat a little while before you excersize, so that you have energy.
