I have a 7 month old who is about to get really mobile so it's time for gates and many more safety items! However, I still want my dachshund to have free range. I was hoping to find a gate that has a doggie door flap. Does anyone know where I can get one?

Thanks A Bunch!

Folks, I appreciate all the comments about the fact that my baby will just mimic the dog! The truth is, my dog is a minature daushund. She is 3 lbs! The door would be very little. Grace might be able to get her arm thru, but that is it! Anyway, I think I will simply go with the answer to get a gate and make an opening that works for both!

I have never seen one...I think any inquisitive baby would crawl right through a doggy door

I've shopped for lots of baby gates and done a lot of looking into the different types of doggie doors, but I have never seen a combo of the 2. Maybe you have a good invention on your hands. I have a fairly small doggie door and my toddler still tries to get thru it....something to think of...especially with kids small enough to wiggle thru one. We just have to keep the doggie door on the other side of the baby gate. As much as I don't want to separate the baby from the dogs the baby just doesn't understand what is too much aggression for a dog, what is uncomfortable petting for the dog, or when to leave the dogs alone because they're sleeping, etc. So, better safe than sorry...we limit baby/dog time to when they can be closely monitored together...that way she can learn how to treat them without the risk of any problems.

i don't be responsive to the place to get it yet i've got considered a dogie door this is controlled by making use of a canine collar that sends a sign to the door unlocking it while the canine is on the door and locks immediately while he's not. there continues to be conceivable accessible and this i'm particular substitute right into a intense dollar merchandise. I don;t think of the little one will desire loose roam of the completed domicile, the place will you be while the canine is gazing the little one?

You may want to see what pet stores have. Maybe they can find you something. I have never seen anything like that & I own a pet store. But, I am going to a trade show at the end of next month who knows!

Don;'t think you will find one of those.. because the child would def see the dog doing it and do it too.. monkey see monkey do!! So it defeats the purpose.. your poor dashhound will never have free range again LOL

Just remember that little ones see and do. They can fit through smaller openings than you think. Try pet smart or pet co

that is an interesting question.. if someone were to make one they would be a complete idiot, like everyone else has said, your baby will just crawl right throught the door. common sense!!!

Wouldn't your baby just crawl through the same flap then?
