CAnt you just pay the minimum every month over the internet or something? If its a small loan it should not be a problem, just pay off the min payment and interest every month. Unless you cant pay it for some reason. Then go talk to the loan officer and see what you can arrange. They might do if, but they would charge you a penalty.

runaway and forget it...unless you live with your parents in which case they'd end up paying for it !
Offer them a settlement figure, something really low, and let them know that you're going to Australia ! They'll probably accept it !

contact your creditor and explain , if they hit you with ridiculous fees and interest when you return , IE, 40 letters sent to your last address charged at £25 per letter etc , you will at least have some defence if your taken to court .
Why not inform them by recorded delivery that you cannot resume payment until (date) and you will be out of the country until that time ?
