Most people everywhere have basic premises and belief systems that provide the basis for their opinions.
The "Human Race Party" would function exactly like any other political party. All people believe (or pretend to believe) that their party or religion or group or whatever have the ideas and plans that will most help the human race.
Just because somebody has chosen to agree with a certain ideology doesn't mean they haven't thought about and decided on it for themselves. The fact is, issues tend to have only two (or maybe thrree) meaningfull positions (although there are many variation as to details).
Whether you put a name to the people that tend to have one side of the position doesn't matter.
I am not a democrat or a republican. I do not have party affiliation. Most people would call me conservative, but I don't see myself as such. Yet on any particular issue, I am way more LIKELY to agree with people labeled "conservative" than with people labeled "liberal". This isn't because I am following along in the "conservative" cause, it is because I believe in certain fundamental premises which these people labeled "conservatives" also share.
I think you have it backwards. People don't take a position because their party takes that position. People pick a party, because the party shares the position that they have "thought about and decided for themselves".

To many Americans vote because of some vague percieved wrong commited by the other "Bad" party.
BOTH parties frame depates carefully as to avoid the really important issues, NEITHER want to make any negative comment that would be required to find solutions to REAL problems.
So, untill we all vote smarter, we will once again be debating Gay Marriage, Abortion, Global warming, and using catch phrases like "cut and run" tax and spend" "culture of corruption" "neocon" "anti-labor" and all of the other worthless phrases.
While the REAL problems of immagration, health care, social security, corporate takeover, do not get discussed.
We need to all vote for a 3RD. PARTY!
Peace!

You forgot anarchism; a party I wanted to join, but ultimately rejected. Too many rules.
Actually, I pride myself on my dangerous and seditious thoughts; such as "How about letting the drivers speed on the roads, then wipe out their own families by accident and have nobody else to blame but themselves?" and "How about if Tiny Blur and his Lord and Master Shrub were chosen to be the first astronauts to be sent to the Sun? It'd be safe for them to go, because we'd be sending them at night ..."
I enjoy thinking seditious thoughts, such as wondering what life would be like if the government stopped trying to monitor the population with biometric ID cards and CCTVs, and actually tried /trusting/ us. There are more than 60 million human beings living on this island, and if they're insisting on treating us all like criminals - or worse, slaves waiting to be processed and sold - they'd better be prepared for a huge letdown come election day when we respond to them in kind ...
I don't know what sort of party I'd belong to. But if the men in Westminster and Whitehall knew just how much I loathe them for treating those who voted them into power like cattle for the market, I'd probably be setting up my hustings from the inside of a rubber room.

What a off the wall question. Only a socialist, liberal, conservative, republican, democrat, capitalist, communist would even think like that.
You need to stop your socialist, liberal, conservative, republican, democrat, capitalist, communist ways and join the socialist, liberal, conservative, republican, democrat, capitalist, communist party.
Help us stamp out all the socialist, liberal, conservative, republican, democrat, capitalist, communist in America.

I think ur brainwashed if and only if u only look at one view of an argument such as watching the news. Most ppl do not knw how to watch the news intelligently and logically. They only get one perspective of the news. Most ppl are only stuck watching Fox News all day. It is pretty obvious that Fox news is pro-conservative news. I'm not saying its bad, but one can get brainwashed just by watching the "yay bush channel" or even by watching only MSNBC and other news programs. one should extend their views to include independent sources such as PBS or Link TV. brainwashed means to accept only one view of an argument and not attempt to contrast and compare it with the other side.

Here's what to do , unlearn all you've been taught to memorize and spit back out and start doing your own research.
Brainwashed? Yep, and you find out it's all a lie cause noone knows a damn thing.
America is the worst, teaching you to stand in line, hurry up and wait, just like military.
Beware the hound and the dog tags, your nothing more than a product now.

We are all Brain Washed to a certain extent. The only reason I vote is to maintain a balance between the two major parties. I think they both have their flaws, but when one party has all the control in our government then they become more corruptible as you are seeing in today's world. I want to only bring balance back to the U.S. Government and that is why I will be voting (D) no other reason.

The totally honest party
Dedicated to educating the masses on the true cost of running the country. I would not stand for allegience to racial or political groups or ideals that led us away from the best interests of future generations. There would be no charity for exclusive or restrictive (usually ethnic) groups only funds that would be available to the truly needy...
and anyone who didn't like it can leave

Rigorous frequent self-examination, outside the influence of partisan pundits.
The ability to think rationally, like any other skill, requires practice. Just like the ability to see from many different perspectives and to respect different view points. Hence my experiment last week.
It's only by challenging our own beliefs, seeing how they truly compare and contrast to other perspectives, and only by honest consideration that we may be wrong can we maintain rationality.
That's why I consider closed-minded partisan bickering to be a contagious mental disease. And like all diseases, the cure is plenty of mental exercise, keeping the lint traps clean, and a healthy diet of mixed self-reflection and perspective shifting.
Because that's the only way to keep the mind healthy and flexible.

Nice question, i travel around the world and i see it in many different areas, TV is the biggest brainwasher, even if you dont have one, your friend has and they have seen this and it must be true its on TV!
There is good and bad in all colours, creeds, and religions. Its the "controllers" that dont want you to realise this.
Try NO TV, newspapers or general media for a month.....
