What do you think of the President of Iran wanting to debate with President Bush on world matters?

I just think it's weird. I've never heard of two nations doing something like that. What's your insite.

It would be funny. I can't help but think his appearance on 60 Minutes had something to do with this. In fact, after that show aired, I saw some remarks on blogs opining that this guy would run circles around Bush.

It would be dumb to have such a debate even if Bush agreed and was the best debater in the world. It would just be a way for A. to get his points across to a wide audience, and not a way to solve any problems or conduct international relations.

I think Ahmedbinjad just wants to appear as if he's offering and offering to talk or meet with Bush and is being refused. This makes his position and future actions seem more reasonable to his countrymen and other supporters.

I have long advocated a debate before the UN General Assembly between Bush and the President of Iran. It could be broadcast on C-Span (so American Idol wouldn't have to be pre-empted).

If you ever have the nerve to read the President of Iran's blog you'd see that the guy may be many things but he is not stupid. He is an instructor at a University in Iran. Just for an instant contrast that with George W. Bush!

It's funny that he would make this request...again. He made this request about three years ago when America declared an illegal war on Iraq. Bush ignored it or at least claimed to never had heard the request. Bush wouldn't be able to debate Mahmoud Ahmadinejad. I have a feeling Ahmadinedjad speaks english however Bush probably does not speak Farsi. Langauge barrier. Besides that Bush couldn't debate his way out of a plastic bag. He would just suffocate. The guy can't even eat pretzels without almost choking to death.

Well IRANIAN PRESIDANT is trying to prove a point here...THAT HE IS OPEN TO DISCUSSIONS AND DEBATES...WHILE U.S PRESIDANT IS NOT EVEN WILLING TO TALK TO HIM (As US rejected the offer of talking...)...I dont know why President bush doesnot want to have a dialogue with iran afterall he had a six nation dialogue with south korea not once but twice regarding the nuclear issue (And more suprising is the fact that US is willing to talk with a nation which has already prepared nuclear weapons while does not want to talk with someone who is atleast claiming to prepare nuclear technology for civil purposes)
I dont know whats the reality behind this issue..I guess it would be wierd if leaders of these two contradictory nations talk to each other...but I think that if they do, it would atleast have a much better and peaceful impact on the international scenario and save the world from anysort of future conflicts(Which i hope doesnot happen..)

He obviously wants to move Persian Islam from the 18th century to the twelfth century. He has already required all other religions to wear insignia and be treated as second class Iranians. He has withdrawn most women's rights and is requiring them to cover their heads faces and bodies. The fashion police are out and can put a woman in jail for not complying. Just imagine Genghis Khan with an A-bomb.

i'm no longer a liberal, by no ability have been and notice no reason to start up, yet I additionally do no longer hear to the propaganda such as you're spewing right here the two. This be conscious "terrorist" is getting used too in many cases and for the incorrect reasons, as of suited now, the two maximum terrorist international locations are the U. S. and Israel. We whinge that Iran is sending components to our enemies, properly, think of roughly us sending components to their enemies like Iraq during their conflict, and militia components to Afghanistan during their conflict with Russia with the objective to assist them kill Russians, and likewise the sending of militia kit to Israel to kill Palestinians. So i assume you may desire to call it a 2 way highway, and that i by no ability heard the place Iran expressed any prefer to kill us.

I think its a publicity stunt. If our president takes him up on it, then our president is losing face even if he wins the debate, and the Iranian is winning face by debating even if he loses.

This is only meant to distract from the idea that Iran wants to nuke its neighbors.

Its clever exploitation of world media for political gain, and it may be working. Sometimes the media acts rather unbrightly.

Based on the quotations made to the press, it seems clear to most of us that the President of Iran is a nitwit. Why would President Bush elevate this puppet of the ignorant Mullahs to equal status? No way.
