In the US the Federal minimum wage is $5.15/hour. However, each city and state can have a wage above that.

The minimum wage payable in Australia is $467.40 per week or $12.30 per hour.

Australia doesn't have a minimum wage like in the US. There are different minimums for different jobs, and since the recent industrial relations changes there's basically nothing.

I live in Florida and minimum wage over here is only $6.40 an hour. Yeah, it sucks. It supposed to go up again soon though.
