the filing fees in california for divorce are $320.00, if you want to file any motions through out the procedings they will be $40.00 each. if you need any kind of order signed it is $20.00 each. any attorney fees would be separate. however, if you feel this may be a simple divorce you may want to try and file on your own. california courts offer a family law facilitator who can help you file the documents you need for free.

When I got divorced in 1990 it cost me $400. I didn't go to a lawyer but for lack of a better term a divorce center. They did all the paperwork and all I had to do was sign the papers. We had nothing to split and no children. Six months later I was FREE!!!

I know you are actually able to do it yourself. Do an internet search. Make sure you get the paperwork that is legal in California.
