You'd have to get it unlocked. I see very few returns from dissatisfied customers. People are generally happy with it. It's much cheaper than a razr so there's low risk to buying it. It also is not Bluetooth capable, but on the up side, it has a camera with a flash. It's a more basic phone. There is nothing wrong with trying it. Motorola began as a unknown company. All companies do.

If you can get it unlocked it should work - the only concern would be downloading or installing OFFICIAL T Mobile content. When I say content I'm referring to ring tones, mega tones, hi fi ringers, games and wallpapers.
Once you get the phone unlocked it will still have the Cingular software installed on the phone. So when you go to the T Mobile T Zones and try to download or purchase any of their ring tones and what not you'll get eRRors - the download will be aborted. If ring tones, etc. aren't that big of a deal for you then it won't matter but it's something you should be aware of.

Pantech actually makes some really cool phones that aren't even brought over here to the States. . . . yet. They also make phones for Disney Mobile, Alltel [you should see their version of the C-300, the PN-218], Helio and Verizon.

I can understand that but Pantech? I saw commercials for it and all and it's small and cute but Pantech??? Motorola is popular because everyone has it, uses it and trusts it. Pantech is a new brand, it might do well it might not. You might want to wait or look at other options. You wouldn't buy a TV made by Hibaditech... me either - just made it up. They have no credit or backing. Don't be swayed by looks, function and the fact that it works good is more important.

lots of goods have that packaging recently (particularly interior the electronics branch), all you fairly need to do is decrease around the sealed area with scissors (this is going to be diffcult if the scissors are not sharp), in any different case you may try a knife or use a container cutter and pass it over the plastic a pair circumstances. it oftentimes does finally end up looking particularly tousled, yet who cares, in case you obtain the telephone out. *there's a product available that especially opens those kinds of applications (they artwork the identical way as scissors could, different than you do not do all that scissoring action and in simple terms pass it over as quickly as), besides the undeniable fact that I forgot the place I observed it, besides, how often could you open those applications besides?
