Check the users manual as to the type of RAM (memory) each computer takes. If they're the same type, you should be able remove the RAM from one and put it in the other , assuming you have an open slot in the other computer.

Or you can look up the specs for each computer on the Dell website and see if the RAM is interchangeable.

As long as it's the same type of memory, like PC133 SDRAM for example, and it has the same kind of physical connector (the DRAM chip modules have little slots on them so they can only be inserted one way) then sure, go ahead. Go into the BIOS when booting and confirm the new amount of memory. Don't worry about "erasing" the memory, that happens all by itself when the power is removed when it gets shut down or the memory module is removed. Be sure to use ESD (elctro static discharge) protection (a wrist strap for example) or you could damage the chips without even realizing it.

Hi. Adding memory is pretty easy if you don't mind opening the computer box. You need to determine what kind of memory your Dell has, but it is probably DDR. You do NOT have to erase the memory because it only stores data while powered up. There are usually two clips that hold the memory stick in and you release these clips to remove the memory. Ground yourself first by touching the metal inside the case to prevent static electricity from zapping the new memory.

well memory doesn't hold(stores) anything if it doesn't have electric charge going to it. so there is no need to eraise anything.
As far as moving the memory-- that depends on the type of memory your computers are using.
