My 17yr old Daughter keeps having dreams about her teeth, they are either falling out or coming alive and chasing her.

I believe dreams have meanings, but I cannt for the life of me fathom this one out.

this is actually a very common stress dream. it is a well documted dream that lots of people have. so its nothing to get excited about - just know that it is stress related...is she just entering her senior year? that is a particularly stressfull time...the tooth dream is usually representative of a fear of loss, i.e. loss of family or familiar surroundings(graduation, leaving home, going on a long journey) there is more to it than that, but this is the short, painless version:)

just to clarify: the most terrifiying recurring nightmare i had as a child (5-11yrs) was of being chased through the streets of morocco by a gigantic glazed donut! i kid you not. i could even smell it. this went on for years until i was 11. then one nite i was having the same stupid dream, when it suddenly occurred to me "its a donut, fer cryin out loud!"so i stopped and confronted the donut. it stopped, my grandparents jumped out from behind it, grinned the most malicious grins, and i promptly woke up. i havent had it since, i dont know what it meant, or why it stopped, but i'd love to hear a psychologist tackle it:) LOL anyway, i dont seem the worse for wear, so i dont worry about it. dont tack too much importance to dreams - and yes, i've had the tooth dream many times myself. always bothersome, but still only a dream.

Teeth was the most requested dream word of all so here goes... If you dream of having false teeth this indicates that you will have unexpected help on a problem. To dream of rotten teeth shows that you have been telling someone a lie or using your smooth words for getting your own way no matter what. If your teeth are rotten, crooked, and/or falling out this means that your lies are hurting someone very badly and that you will soon be found out. If you dream you have swallowed a tooth you will soon have too 'eat your words'. It becomes much easier to interpret this kind of dream if you think of teeth as representing words. When the dreamer is not the one with the bad teeth you will naturally have to watch out for someone lying to you.

Teeth falling = out of or losing control.
Coming alive could mean some sort of imagination in her. she is having some stress or anxiety
Being chased = she is being disciplined or criticized.

She probably has some sort of problem in reality. Subconsciously she wants to project some part of her body to show or release her untold pain. The pain of losing control, being criticized. Of course, this is her dream, she will know best what exactly it is.

1) I read it means it's a sign for loss of childhood innocence.
Occurs during times of transition, or may also symbolize the desire to return to the security of childhood.

2) Some say it's fear of making a fool of yourself over
exaggeration of your worries.

3) Scriptural interpretations indicate that you're putting your faith, trust & beliefs in what man thinks rather than in the word of God.

I still have dreams about my teeth falling out about 1 or 2 a year.
Next time I'll pay more attention to what's happening around me to see what caused the dream.
Interesting question though,-

How would losing their teeth make a teenager feel? Atrocious! Not only would they look hideous, they'd look DIFFERENT!

So my guess would be that there are self-esteem or appearance issues (like what teen doesn't suffer from that!). Perhaps she's experiencing ridicule about something that is unique to her, or she's expecting that she will....

Maybe she's got some issues with her teeth. How's her hygiene, does she have bad teeth in some way?

Or maybe for no apparent reason, teeth were chosen to be her bogeyman. Sometimes I think our subconsciouses are out to get us. For me it's bears. Why bears, I don't know. But in my dreams they terrify me.

Dreams of teeth falling out are universally associated with concerns about appearance. The dreams may seem puzzling at first, but next time you look in the mirror, consider how important your teeth are in your presentation to others. The first thing another person sees when they meet us is our smile.

Your dream contains all the clues we need to solve its puzzle. Not only are you looking in a mirror (afraid that you are going to look bad) but you are doing it in a public setting. You're at a party! Why does the dream choose this seemingly bizarre context for your concerns? It's easy! When you're at a party, appearances are at a premium.

Appearance issues evolve with age. When we are teens, teeth falling out dreams may reflect concerns about fitting in with a group, or knowing the right thing to say in a certain situation -- in addition to physical appearance issues. As we grow older, the dreams often reflect concerns about attractiveness. They are especially common after we suffer setbacks in relationships such as breakups or divorce. As we grow older still, soon we are concerned with the effects of age: wrinkles, gray hairs, sagging muscle tone and extra weight.

first and best suited its a dream no longer something extra, odds are she possibly hasn't carried out something against you. 2nd objectives are in certainty projections of your subconscious, or extra particularly your identification ( incorporates inner desires). using fact it became your dream there is not any longer a situation along with her, its with you. "She's the main severe ingredient in my existence" a attainable clarification of your dream is you experience no longer worth of being her lover. you are going to be able to desire to in all risk experience like your no longer sturdy sufficient for her, and you photograph her with a extra useful significant different. you won't trust this, in spite of the shown fact that it is your subconscious generating the dream no longer your wakeful. the suitable suggestion, seek advice from her approximately your dream, see how she feels approximately you, reassure your self which you're what's physically powerful for her and you're making her experience the comparable way you experience for her.

She's having power and/or expression issues. Teeth are a sign of power (in the natural world we'd probably use them in both attack and defense), or because of their place in the mouth (how we express ourselves) they are a sign of how we express ourselves confidently (again with power). She sounds like she feels she either can't express herself (teeth falling out) or she is expressing herself incorrectly and misrepresenting herself (her teeth attack her). She is feeling powerless because of this inability to express herself well. The only question is where she feels she can't express herself.

Does she feel that she'll disappoint you or that you wouldn't understand her if she tried, or is it at school or among friends? I would venture to guess that the best course of action is to try to communicate with her and find out what she wants said and be patient with her. If she feels that you'll jump on her or attack her in some way she'll clam up again. And if she can tell you who or where the problem is you can act accordingly.

its the importance being put on her from others. about taking care of her teeth. and she doesn't see the impotence and her subconscious has giving her a reason for the importance of taking care of her teeth. if she don't their going to get her or rot out of her mouth. witch can be pretty dramatic.

She is afraid of something she might say or has said in the past and it might come back to 'haunt' her..!
She should try to remember what it was and fix it.
Its playing on her conscience.
