Does anyone here think something fishy is going on with the way Ray Nagin has been handling the "clean up?"

I still wonder if he was made an offer from big business to not clean up the poor areas so the poor cannot come back and then the million dollar hotels, homes and businesses can come in and take over.

What do you think?

The natural history of cities recovering from disasters is that it gets upgraded, and the people with less resources go elsewhere. Every era, every area. Sad, but true.

Ray Nagin seems like a genuinely decent fellow who is in over his head, and the people with the kind of training to lead in such disastrous circumstances are few and far between. Give him a chance to learn and make a few mistakes.

Ray Nagin has not been bought out by big business. He wants his Chocolate City and he is going to get it. Ray Nagin is black and was re-elected by his black constituants.
