it can be harmless and all in fun. Sometimes, people take it too far and it can get them into trouble. I think it just depends on the person.

If a person is truly confident in themselves, and truly loves someone, they can flirt and enjoy the attention but be comfortable enough with themselves to not need to let it get any further. If they truly love whoever they are with, they will not want it to get any further, they really just won't be all that interested in anyone else. However, if a person has low self-esteem, they feel the need to be wanted by other people. They allow flirting to go too far to see how far it will go. This can get them into trouble. If a person is not really that committed to whoever they are with, they are always looking for something new, and flirting can be very dangerous in this instance.

Also, some of the people that you flirt WITH can take it too far. This puts you in a very uncomfortable situation as you must explain to them that you are not interested in being anything other than friends.

so it is harmless, but only if you are very, very careful....

The act of flirting is harmless.

Why someone flirts would be more of a concern to me then whats going to happen. Many people just flirt and don't intend on doing anything more. But we flirt to reinforce to ourselves that we are desireable in many ways.
I am a terrible flirt but there have been times in my life I had no desire to do so. Those were the times that the man I was with fullfilled me in every way. I Had no need to feel wanted by anyone else. So if my mate was flirting I would see it as a signal I was not fullfilling all their desires and needs.

Flirting is some-what harmless. If you're in a relationship and you're flirting with another gender, than that could be harmless to the one your with. If you're flirting while being single, how do you know that the other is single? if both are single, then yes flirting is harmless

Casual flirting is ok. Flirting with danger is not. If your married the only flirting you should be doing is with your spouse.
