Keep in Mind we had a draft in every major war we ever had including Vietnam which was actually classified as a police action and not a war by our Govt. at the time.Also keep in mind the draft was very unpopular then also(Vietnam0.Also keep in mind that we are actually in a war now. A Declared war against terrorists and terrorism.

There is legislation going through the house and senate right now attempting to bring it back but this time it will include males and females. My source of this information was from Yahoo! questions a couple of weeks ago in answer to a question similar to this concerning the draft. The answerer gave a web site to click on and verified he was telling the truth.

I think they have the power to but I hope they do not I have a son and if he chooses to be in the service fine but no one should force him
