If you going with the housing association you can get a flat for around £250 per month if you go private its around £350 - £450 i dont pay any rent I have housing benifit you would be cheaper getting a mortage.

My friend lives there and pays £720 pcm for a pretty nice 2-bed flat. Don't know if that's average though.

well i live in leicester but not sure about the prices of flats there are about from £60.000 to £120.000 for student onesbut i don't know about the cheap ones
