Depends on what where you are called for the same. E.g.-for an ad agency or to work as an RJ/VJ you can dress up casually. But if you are going into a formal set up then better dress up formally.
Whatever the dress code, pls.pls. pls. don't go in your night dress, unkempt hair, body odour, dirty nails & footwear. No one will like your unwanted gift. The basic thumb rule is wear neat comfortable clothes, accessorise properly & of course, an impressable CV and you are already a winner.

YES you must wear formals for the interviews. Now-a-days even IT companies expect their employees to wear formal dress on a day-to-day basis.
A good formal dress creates the first good impression. Your posture, gait and the way you sit in a chair make a lot of difference. Formal wears help in this situation. If you wear a jean or any other informal clothes, then you tend to give a slouch picture of yours.

It is more apporiate to wear clothes like you would be wearing for the job. Did you notice what the employees were wearing that work there? If possible scope that out before the interview and dress like you already work there.

it really depends on what type of job you are interviewing for. some employers like the formal look and some like the casual look so like if you are applying in an office that has lots of traffic from the public, then maybe dress up for that but if it is like a recreation center or something like that then dress in your casual clothing.

Knowing when and where to put a space in your sentence helps for an interview. Mainly the resume.

You should always wear professional clothes to an interview. Even if your job will require you to wear jeans, you need to go to the interview dressed to impress!

Yes, it is necessary. Even if you're more formally dressed than the interviewer.
