plane and simple you get a players card from the hotel your staying at. Use it each and every time you play slots or table games. They rate you by the length of time you play and the amount you are betting ( at the tables). Pretty much the same for the slots. The more you play, the longer you play and the bigger you bet the more comp dollars you get.
To take full advantage of your comp dollars, anything you buy at the hotel (drinks, food, etc....) charge to your room. If you pay up front they do not reimburses you with your comp dollars. If you charge it to your room you may have enough comp dollars to get it free.
Part way through your stay call the front office and ask to speak to a casino host. Ask them how your players card is doing just so you no where you stand.
Its all relative to how you gamble. The pit bosses at the tables look after your card while you play. Highly recommend joking and laughing with them. Get to know them and tip the dealers well if your winning. Quite often the pit bosses will let your card run longer after you have left the table. Be friendly at the tables.
My last trip to Vegas was comped 100% accommodations and all meals. I have recently booked a trip for October and have my first 3 days of accommodations already free.
Play where you stay. Plan to do your gambling where your staying if you want the best comps.

Well, its all about the Gambling.. obviously. And you have to be noticed gambling. So , you could have visited a hotel 500 times in your life, but if you dont have a players club and bet very small amounts you probably will never be comped.
I was comped after my first visit to the Flamingo. I got a players club card, and bet quite a bit my first night. To make things better I even came out on top. About 1 week after I got home, I started getting allkinds of letters inviting me to come out. Some of them even included suites, free spa services ect ect.
The hotels will comp the risk takers no doubt. Regardless of if you win or lose, they figure in the end more money will come your way if you stay in there hotel. Think about it, One night of losing gambling for you coudl be more then they would make by you staying in their hotel for a week.
Bottom line.. get the players club card and have a couple of agressive nights where you risk alot.

I actually did the same with Mandalay Bay Resorts, which comped me a very large suite in their hotel, but was able to have all my food, drink and entertainment free at all of their properties in Vegas. This time, it was not a matter of depositing a large amount of money for gambling, but rather saving all my "One Club" points and dollars for a specific trip. You really don't have to be a "whale" to experience a "high rollers" life. Just be sensible with your gambling and don't go overboard. The rewards will add up in time.

Those people did not mention that they also have to spend most of the day making bets to get rated high enough for comps. In most places the comps work out to about 10% of what you gamble. If you lose $10000 you could get $1000 in comps (if you registered and had them keep rating you). If you do the math that sucks. If you think you could count on getting a winning streak and coming out ahead then welcome to Las Vegas - that is what those big fancy casinos were built on.

You need to become a "rated player"
In other words, you must consistently wager large sums of money, specifically at the tables (Black Jack,Roulette, Poker, Baccarat)
You should obtain a players card from the Casino where you will do most of your gambling. That will allow you to earn comps. The only time I go one was the night that I won 25,000, but I was already staying in the hotel. They just want you to stay there and lose it all back to them.

Does not always take a large amount of money or points. I was comped a three night stay at a certain property because of my blackjack playing. I was only betting 5, 10, and 20 a hand. It all depends on the property and a wise pit boss.

NEVER ask to be comp'ed - they'll probably laugh at you.
My mom's friend plays $100 a day or so at Rio and gets RFB comps. (Room, Food, Beverage) I play $300 a trip at NYNY and get discounted room rates.
Join the players club at whatever hotel you're staying in first of all. Then ask about being rated. That's when they track your play for a predetermined amount of time - how much you bet each time, how long you play, etc. They'll often base your comps on that.

Well... You have to sign up for a players club.. each casino has their own.. once you have it.. anytime you gamble whether its on a table or a slot machine you insert your card or give it to the dealer and they scan it and you pretty much earn point.. the more you use it the more points you get which could lead to free things such as a free room.. but in order to get a free room you have to earn a lot of point.. the points accumulate on the amount you use.

Other than joining a "high rollers" club, watch what pit bosses will offer you should you win a considerable amount.

It is all money spent. 10K will get you a nice room for free. Being a memeber of whatever club they have will also get you comps.
The adage is the more you spend the more freebies you get
