BBC TV said a programme is not a repeat if you haven't seen it. B/f John says that is a sophisticated argument that doesn't hold water. It seems like sense to me.

As I understood it a repeat is a programme that has been shown before. This new definition means that a repeat would be a personal definition. I agree with your b/f, this is cobblers, something the BBC is saying to justify its vast amounts of repeats.

Maybe I'm getting the wrong take on this question but to me if the programme has been broadcast more than once it's a repeat irregardless of weather the viewer has seen it or not.

With this, BBC's, argument, none programme can be repeated since regardless if we have seen it, we have changed, thus, it is like we see it for first time!

The question is, is there truth outside of your personal experience. I say, yes. Just because you have not seen the program does not mean it has not been run before; and even if no one watched it, it is still a repeat performance. However, many gauge truth by their experience, "it is not a repeat to me", rather then actual occurrences. Great question

It is a repeat if your mates have seen it and tell you about it. Seen it or not if its been on more than once its a repeat.
