99% of people do not have the facility to edit or create pdf documents, only to read them.
abode reader is free, but you have to pay to get the software to create/edit them
You would not have the full package unless you worked with PDF files all the time, in which case your business would pay for the program
If you have the full program, then refer to the help pages nfor editing page numbers. If you have the free reader, you cannot edit the page

Avanquest sell a PDF to Word conversion program fairly cheaply. I bought it on special offer for 9.95 this week, but I have not needed to try it yet, so I can not comment on user-friendliness.

you have to make it again from the original, or create an original. but to do thta you need the ful version of Acrobat which costs several hundred quid (in dollars if your american you could be talking a thousand!) so unless your rich or you know someone who is, you can't, its that simple.

try downloading the trial version for 30 days from adobe.com this should enable you to do this. as others have said adobe reader will not allow you to do this
