I have been set a summer home work to research and respond to the theme of 'drawing'. So far I have included the history of drawing, and research into styles by various influences of mine. I am now looking for ideas that will make my sketch book stand out from the others. what other kinda things could I include??

It might be interesting to apply current applications of drawing to what you put in your sketch book. Drawing as both a tool and as a finished product. Look at modern uses in cartoons, caricatures, animation, portraiture, and others. Also explore style. Take an object and draw it as a sketch, an expressive vibrant drawing, a realistic illustration, and maybe even a funny cartoon doodle.

One thing you might like to investigate is how the brain functions while drawing. If you are right-handed, you use the left side of the brain, and lefties use the right side of the brain. Try using your 'other' hand, and find a book on this, it has been written about, only I don't remember the author. Your sketchbook might not look 'perfect', but it will be an interesting research project.

What about the very first drawings in caves and on walls? Or go for something very modern like graffiti - illegal but so very clever. Or the Egyptian drawings as their writing, and the meaning behind each symbol.

I can't draw convincing stick men, so this subject is fascinating!

maybe inspirations from photos and colours or parts of nature- look at symbols and cave drawings and stuff and maybe look at da vinci and all that- you probably know all this.
Maybe you could do something about that crazy thing when "satan makes you draw" or spirits i think its called something like " posessive freehand drawing" see the film Sixth sense you'll know what I mean- and you could also do something with music how it makes you feel and how you can perceive that through drawing! good look!
