It WILL be overheating - 99% certainty.

(If it's does an 'emergency shutdown' - ie. it just powers down / shuts off and not an official 'reboot')

Open the case & check the CPU & power supply fans are working, if it's dusty - power OFF and blow or brush clean.

If that fails - upgrade the fan & heatsink, £12 to £15 at a PC shop for the parts.

The chances of this being a virus are slim to none.....

I had the same problem and after fitting a larger fan to the heat sink which protects the main chip (so I was told) also another fan on the case to bring more air in seems to have helped, perhaps your computer has over heated like mine was, but make sure your fans are all clean after of course switching of the power before opening the case.I'm sure you would do that anyway. good luck Wine Fly

If it retains switching off with the help of itself then its probable your capacity supply(PSU) yet examine each and all the connectors on your motherboard to work out in the event that they related properly then in the event that they are and it remains switching itself off then replace the capacity supply which will probable cost you approximately £15 for a regularly happening PSU and that would desire to variety the project out, if it dosn't then its your motherboard for constructive yet which will cost you a hell of so lots extra so my suggestion is attempt this interior the order I even have reported so the main no longer costly way.

I had that problem a while back turned out to be a trojan virus. Run a scan then follow your security package instructions to get rid of it. Hope I'm wrong on this though and it's just a simple problem, good luck sorting it out.

If you don't know how to work on your computer, leave it alone and call a professional. Mine wouldn't even come on at all and it didn't cost me much to get it fixed. They can diagnose it at Best Buy or something. Keep your fingers crossed for the power supply.

1) Right-click on "My Computer"
2) Select "Properties"
3) Select the "Advanced"
4) Click on "Startup and Recovery"
5) Uncheck "Automatically reboot".

At least, you'll now be able to see the reason for the crash.
