Philosophy is a Greek word that means 'love of wisdom', and it's a particular way of trying to find answers to the questions that tend to trouble people, like: is there a God? If there is, and he loves us, why is there suffering in the world? What is truth? How should we live? The difference between philosophers and, say, religious teachers is that philosophers don't look for the answers in religious books or in traditional beliefs, but try to work them out logically.
The thing about unanswered questions in philosophy is that people often provide what looks like the final answer to a question, but then somebody will find out a flaw in the reasoning. For example, there have been various attempts to prove by logic that God must exist, but none of them have ever been successful, with the result that there are now very few serious philosophers who believe in God.
There are many unanswered questions in philosophy, not because nobody has tried to answer them but because the debates are still going on.
For a philosophical argument to be OK, it has to rely on something that everybody can agree is obviously right. That's the way logic works. Philosophy is important because, if you train yourself to think logically, you can find it easier to argue against people who are trying to bamboozle, confuse or intimidate you. You can also work out why you feel the way you do about some things. Philosophy is not about providing answers, but about teaching people a way of asking good questions. That's why it's valuable.

Philosophy - is made up of two Greek words. Philo- love of and sophia - wisdom. Philosophy is a discipline of the rigors of thinking, breaking knowledge down into its constituent parts, and making an impassionate examination. When a philosopher questions, he is not being capricious, his inquiry is founded on a genuine desire for justified true belief. Why is Philosophy important ? it teaches organized thinking, forces one to be objective and unbiased in their thinking, develops a consistent view of the world, or a world view. Ultimately, to discover who we are, why we are here and where we are going. It is closely akin to faith, because Philosophy of Religion delves into the various belief systems and examines them critically, to ascertain the truth.

Philosophy is love for wisdom. Philosophy answers why the mess?, how the mess? and also answers How to get rid of this mess? It links all sectors, it dissolves all borders. Because they will be wise with all pervading LOVE. LOVE has no boudary, no limit, no pre-condition. So Philosophy is to basically love all.

Philosophy is thinking. The never-ending questioning of ..well, everything....the universe, life, love, nature, simply everythin. Philosophy helps bring forth evolution. Without evolution of the mind, we would be basically standin still.

Philosophy is the will, desire, willingness to learn, improve!
There is nothing we know, although we can claim philosophy (sciences, art, etc.) have answered questions! Still, we can always improve, if we are open minded and excluding believing!

every question in philosophy has many answers and yet does not have a single answer....it is our job to question the world that we live in and the way that we think. We are the only animals that can reason....we can think about what we think about....think about it!

Philosophy helps me understand people's motives. If you can understand a person's motives you can predict their words and actions.
So for me, philosophy equals strategy.
Information equals knowledge and knowledge equals power.
