I'm not a lawyer but I have a little bit of experience with this sort of thing in Ohio. My father attempted to open his adoption records. He specifically wanted information from the hospital but they refused to cooperate. It was odd because only months before his birth sister had found her information from the same hospital.

Most states set up rigid restrictions on the adoption papers. Most parents want to remain annonymous because they may feel shame in giving a child up for adoption. I would start by filing an open records act request with the county you were born in's department of vital statistics (where they keep birth records) for your original birth certificate.

Once you have this information you can then find your birth mother more easily as you'll have a first, last and middle name as well as a birthdate for her.

You can't. And why try to knowing that for some reason your birth parent's don't want you to know who they are.
