They have developed what looks like spiderwebs on them and their fins are falling off. Does anyone know what this is and if so what can i do to keep my other goldfish from getting it and dying too?

Why is it some people think everything is ick. Let's review folks. Ick/ich looks like small white dots the size of a grain of salt. This sounds more like a fungus with fin rot as a secondary infection. Without seeing the fish, and possibly even looking at scrapping under a scope. I couldn't say for sure, and neither can anyone else.

I'd recommend an anti-fungal agent, and a broad spectrum antibiotic. Even if it's just a fungal infection your fish are very vulnerable to bacterial infections.

Examples:
-Jungle fungus eliminator, with any med containing trisulfa
-Pimafix and Melafix
- Maracyn and Maracyn 2 or just Maracyn plus

I have never heard of or seen spiderweb like things on goldfish. But i have seen small white spots in goldfish , which are called "Ich or Ick".Finally these will get big enough by consuming the flesh of the area and when it matures it falls off the fish leaving holes. They can be treatable. There are lots of medicines available in the pet store. But make sure to treat them as soon as possible. But let me remind u, ICK DOESNOT look like spider web.So i will loook up for any thing that matches ur explanation and update.Good luck!

Oh! and what is the colour of the spots?plz answer to be more clear.

go to your local fish store and tell them the specifics of what is going on, they should be able to reccomend a medication you can put in your tank. this depends on how long they have looked this way if you are just noticing it now you may still have a chance to save them. don't go to petco or other corporate places most of the people don't even know what they are talking about.

I don't know much about fish but maybe it's the type of food, the temperature of the water, the tank isn't clean or the types of fish that you have together in a tank. You should also try and google the type of fish you have to get a better answer.

i had goldfish for years and i never saw anything like that... you may want to go to the pet store and ask them. some times you get a person that actually knows what their talking about.

It sounds like a fungus of some kind. Call the pet store and talk to their fish expert --- it may be your best and most reliable information..

it sounds like it may be ick or it could also be a fungus like fin rot which actually eats away their fins and if not treated it can move to the body and eat them away til they die (it happened to my fish before)..they have ick and fungus medicines at most pet stores

You have to test your water. If you don't have a testing kit take it to the pet shop. It's a fungus if you don't do nothing they will die.Trust me i have fish. I went trough all of the ups and downs with fish.

It sounds like they have the "ick" (really, that's a real term. I'm not sure if I spelled it right, though). They have drops for that at the pet store.
