Yes, love is a must for real life but it has different forms. Not only man but all living creatures require mothers love without which, he/she can not survive. As humans grow, their love/attachment gets diversified, and it starts liking toys, pets, friends etc. Later,
he starts loving an art or a craft which helps him grow or sustain himself. It may be singing, dancing, playing, studying, writing, painting even fighting, etc. As further growth continues, one starts loving himself and wants to look best, wants to impress others and wants to do well professionally including making money. At this stage he is attracted to opposite sex which is nature and calls it love. Thus at every stage of life, love, attachment or desire to obtain some thing, plays a critical role in life, that propels him to achieve something, without which his/her life is meaningless.

well not exactly but most of the people look at that way but in my information I say that it is not important at all because u got ur self and u can enjoy other things then playing with ur lover.
