You're right it's hypocrisy. And, it all has to do with who's friends with the most powerful country right now. If you're friends with the U.S. you're automatically right, and entitled to more than others even though you may not deserve it.

In the 1940s, many Israelis were considered terrorists. However, it could be argued that since the King David Hotel attack was against a military target, it is not a terrorist attack. That was the one done by Begin. The other two are definitely terrorist attacks.

The difference between a freedom fighter and a terrorist has nothing to do with perspective. A freedom fighter only attacks targets and infastructure directly relating to the military. A terrorist attacks civilian targets with the purpose of using fear to force a society to further political/religious ideas.

Good question. Western media paints Arab/Palestinian guerillas/insurgents as "terrorists". Their counterparts in the recognized military are known as "commandos". Israelis according to Western media are "settlers" and according to Arabic media "occupiers".
According to Noam Chomsky, Israel (and Turkey) are just huge American military bases. For @ 2400 years, there was no Israel. Now that it's been established, Israelis say they fight to protect their homeland (when there were Jews (and Christians and everyone else) living there peacefully among Arabs for a long time).
The situation gets pretty complicated, so I'll just list some sources of good info below.
Cheers

Yes. Hypocrisy.

Terrorism is one-sided... it is a term being used only to separate Us from Them, not describing specific tactics... rocket attacks are used on both sides. Perhaps the difference is which side has to strap bombs to themselves in order to attack, and which side has airplanes and tanks. So what do we call it when two terrorist groups are fighting eachother?

Conservatives think that liberals like the terrorists, and are on their side. I think it's just that a lot of us don't even think terrorists exist... at least, our government has absolutely failed to define them.

The only difference between a freedom fighter and a terrorist is whether the person describing them likes them.

Israel is a nation-state defending its people from attack.

If Israel is a terrorist states, then Britian, America, and Russia are terrorist states for the destruction they dealt to Germany and Japan.
