Yes....I have taken the BIOS battery out for 24 HOURS..Put it back in with the same result. I have heard that there is a dip switch on the motherboard that is supposed to be a password reset switch, has anyone heard this also? The computer is a DELL Precision if that helps....

all motherboards have a jumper that you can move to reset the bios back to factory default settings.

it is normally in a very accessable position. there may also just be a password reset jumper lables pswd.

Are you trying to get around a user password in the BIOS ?

If so Google " Bios Password Cracker" and you will find some good ones that will either Delete or Give you the password !

BTW , I hope it is your OWN computer ?

Have you checked support.dell.com?
Enter the express tag code or model number
Look for the user's guide
Should have explict instruction on how to clear the BIOS if a switch is provided

Did you set a password and now don't know it? You aren't being very clear as to what your problem is.
