Again, several opinions here, I'll chime in with mine. We have a Toshiba laptop that's been running flawlessly for the last few years. It's a Pentium 3, so you can gauge how long we've been using it. So, based on that and the fact that Dell has had another battery recall...my ratings would be 1)Toshiba 2)HP/Compaq 3)Acer 4)IBM. Best Buy is having great sales on Toshiba Satelllite Series laptops right now.

Lenovo(IBM) has the best range, but it also depends on size of your pocket. An expensive Compaq may outperform a cheap Lenovo. It Depends.

Acer is the best. No doubt.

PCs are usally rated on their hardware specs like hard disc capasity, ram, procsessor.

Sometimes you can set up our own standard and benchmark p.cs based on that.

Toshiba is by far the LAST; all the others I have no comment. Dell aint too bad

HP is the best.

Toshiba is worst.

The others are all probably about the same.
